Despite the far from ideal conditions, the first Marsh Fritillary of the year found this afternoon during a period of sunny spells along the sheltered side of the meadow. Also noted in the same area included at least 12 Dingy Skippers, 2 Orange Tips, several Green-veined Whites, Speckled Wood and Peacock.

Elsewhere, the Orchid Ride produced 3 Orange Tips, 2 Brimstones, 1 Comma, 2 Small Coppers, 1 Speckled Wood, 1 Peacock, 5 Green-veined Whites and 2 Large Whites.

Regards

Dave
