There were several 'tail-ender' butterflies on the dunes at Donna Nook and in my garden in the glorious weather today. During the previous ten days or so of wild and wet weather I had seen only a solitary Red Admiral. The highlight this morning was a fine male Clouded Yellow leisurely feeding on ragwort flowers near the coastguard cottages. Also on the dunes were 2 Peacocks and a Red Admiral while in the garden this afternoon were 2 Peacocks, Red Admiral, Comma and Small White.
