In a four hour round of golf at Market Rasen from 1300-1700 today I saw in excess of 25 Painted Ladies flying strongly - I have not seen so many before at this time of year - has anyone else seen any?

Hi Stuart, apparently there is a big immigration taking place of Painted Ladies, with at least a 100 seen at Portland,i saw only 6 today at Barton in a couple of hours, but they are being reported in much bigger numbers elsewhere as your observation suggests.

Hi Stuart

I've seen lots of Painted Ladies moving through the County today, at various sites between Twyford and Lincoln. All flying strongly, as you've pointed out, and in a northerly direction! Will there be Clouded Yellows next?

Dave
