Post subject:  Large Heath explosion?

Made a visit to the NNR today and managed a huge count of 112 Large Heath, this is the most i have ever seen in the 6 years i have been visiting the reserve. This is good news, for this, the most southerly breeding colony of the species in the Uk.Other species observed today included 4 Ringlet,41 Large Skipper,2 Meadow Brown,2 Large White,1 female Brimstone and 1 Small White.

Regards

Steve
