During my time watching the butterfles this past week upto yesterday noticed a Small Tortoiseshell keeping company with a Painted Lady. Can't be sure it's the same ones all the time but it was annoying me more that the Painted Lady. Wherever it went the Small followed, sometimes the Lady flew over in to next doors garden trying to get away but it couldn't. Then it came back and flew on to different Buddleahs and the Small followed.

Is this normal behaviour? Is the Tortoisheshell colour blind? Has it been sent to Coventry? I am sure the experts out there will know.

Regards

Max
