31 July 2009 Lunchtime wander around eastern end of Allenby Road Industrial Estate, Lincoln, produced some large numbers of butterflies. Painted Lady 130 at least Peacock 60 Large White 30 Small Tortoiseshell 3 Brown Argus 1 Essex Skipper 3 Small Skipper 1 Common Blue 8 Green-veined White 4 Meadow Brown 10 Gatekeeper 5 A single large buddliea bush held at least 45 painted ladies and 30 peacocks, quite a sight! No clouded yellows yet. Cheers Brian |
