Transect today in warm sunny and very dry conditions, only a few green hairstreaks survived the easterlies and frosts of the past week, fresh today 9 brown argus, 3 common blue ,2 small heath
15 wall brown, regards John

14 species on yesterday's transect at Gib, no exceptional numbers except Green Hairstreak which seems to have survived well at Gib with a massive record count of 62 individuals. Only 2 each of Wall and Brown Argus - your 10 Walls seems good John.

Only 2 green hairstreaks on trans Ed and only 2 seen elswhere, in hawthorns,
the light rain of this morning isn,t going to do much good either, John.

First transect in 2 weeks this afternoon, 13 08 11.
small skipper 12, small copper 4, common blue 16, red admiral 7, small tortoiseshell 3,
peacock 10, wall brown 2, hedge brown 14, meadow brown 27, small heath 12,
brown argus 9, painted lady 1. regards John.
