After a fair bit of effort and several brief flight views I finally located a Purple Hairstreak showing well in the sunshine on the edge of the oak wood giving prolonged views in the open.
Target achieved the rest of the visit was confined to the perimeters of Grebe Lake and Thorpe Lake which produced the following:
Large White - 20
Green-veined White - 2
Meadow Brown - 20
Speckled Wood - 3
Gatekeeper - 4
Comma - 2
Peacock - 1
Large Skipper - 1
