from car park head eastwards along track and turn right at footpath just before the house, follow this path till you come to a bench and opposite a small swing gate, i spotted the butterfly just in front of the gate. i tried to take a photo , it was so tiny and very hard to focus while in flight and it just disappeared from view, i was gutted. I did not realise it was a rare butterfly. Colin Pumfrett. |

Hi Trev, i am absolutely sure it was, why is it so rare as there are pictures of them in the photo album, are they confined to certain areas. |

I'm not 100% sure but photographic evidence would probably be needed for it to be accepted in Lincs. There are only a small number of sites for Grizzled in the county. Hopefully an expert will confirm its status. Adi |

Without a photograph or someone verifying this butterfly species at this location this record cannot be acepted by Butterfly Conservation. This species has not been found at this location or in North Lincs for quite a few years. It is always possible though that this butterfly has been released. Thanks for the information. |
