Please can anybody tell me if Buckthorn grows in Lincolnshire ( near Grantham) I have looked everywhere and can't for the life of me find it. I am trying to breed brimstone's this year and can't find a source of the foodplant Rhamnus. Help! Thankyou |

I planted a Alder Buckthorne (Rhamnus Frangula) in my garde a few years ago and the first year soon after it came into leaf a Brimstone found it and laid eggs. After hatching the caterpillar's stripped it of all the leaves but it has survived, Sorry but it is around 30 miles to Grantham from Spalding |
