Yarborough Warren
A brief early morning visit to a small section of the warren, primarily to try and find Grayling, produced a good range of butterflies in very warm but breezy conditions.
Grayling - 5
Peacock - 8
Small Tortoiseshell - 1
Wall - 5
Meadow Brown - 24
Ringlet - 2
Gatekeeper - 52
Common Blue - 10
Brown Argus - 54. One of the best sites in the county for this species.
Small Heath - 1
Large Skipper - 1
Small Skipper - 8
Speckled Wood - 9
Large White - 1
Small White - 7
Green-veined White - 7

Messingham Sand Quarry
Peacock - 81
Red Admiral - 21
Small Tortoieshell - 4
Comma - 1
Meadow Brown - 51
Gatekeeper - 45
Speckled Wood - 11
Brimstone - 1(male)
Large White - 4
Small White - 5
Green-veined White - 14
Common Blue - 6
Brown Argus - 10
Small Copper - 3
Small Skipper - 5

Where abouts is Yarborough Warren please? I have only been able to find a Yarborough Wood on Ordanace Survey Map!
