I just noticed that last year under " My Garden" I put the wrong Grid Reference down it should have read SE 881 079 not SE 847 092. The grid ref I used is one of my sites on local patch about two miles from me, sorry about the mix-up. Seen today April 20th: Green-veined White - 1 Small Tortoiseshell - 1 Max |

Hi Max, It's nice to know that your Red Admiral has got good taste and didn't choose any old and common Geranium. I haven't had Red Admiral in the garden yet, but I did have a Ringlet a few days ago. Happy butterflying. Regards, Freddy |

Coincidence! Coincidence! Today at 4.10pm precisely a Red Admiral waltzed over our garden hedge and settled on a fence panel. Now we wait for the Gatekeeper to arrive. Regards, Freddy |

Painted Lady - 3 cracking specimens, best I've seen this year. Small White - 3 Large White - 8 Green-vein White - 1 Peacock - 1 Small Tortioseshell - 5 Speckled Wood - 2 High above garden had the neighbourhood Sprawk patrolling plus a few Swifts and House Martins. LOL A poet as well! LOL I've been known to pen a few but not on here. Still no sign of the darned thing! Here are the latest sightings: JULY 25th: Comma - 1 Peacock - 4 Painted Lady - 3 Small White - 5 Large White - 5 Small T/shell - 3 Green-vein White - 5 JULY 27th: Painted Lady - 2 Peacock - 3 Small White - 2 Large White - 6 JULY 28th: Comma - 1 [ on Magnolia] Painted Lady - 6 Peacock - 8 Large White - 8 Small White - 7 One unidentified Blue passing through. Plus one dragon doing same. Not complaining about the lack of butterflies having an average of 25 to 30 every day when the weather is fine, but it would be good to see the 'keeper as it comes nearly every year. Regards Max |

JULY 31st: Peacock - 13 Red Admiral - 1 Small Tortoiseshell - 2 Painted Lady - 16 Small White - 5 Large White - 7 And a possible 'keeper but not a definate sighting as it was too far away, darn it. In the few years I've been watching butterflies I've never seen that total of Painted Lady anywhere! The buddleah behind garage isn't very big but it was covered in butterflies it was fabulous to sit and watch them, oddly the other three buddleahs hardly had anything on them, two of which are bigger and the other smaller. I'm enjoying my period of confinement while these beautiful creatures keep visiting lol........ Regards John |
