Just a few mins ago, I was talking to Mick on the phone (he is at a pool match at our local), he suddenly noticed a sparrowhawk fly past with a small bird in its talons and I was able to see it also as it flew over our garden as I watched from the window as Mick said it was heading this way. If I have my facts right Sparrowhawks feeding themselves eat the prey where they catch it so I presume this one has young to feed, which is encouraging after the adverse weather, not sure of the nest site, but the sparrowhawk is regularly seen around here. Nice to know it has bred successfully
