Nah Osprey - if you can't find it do a quick search for photos from Ancaster.

Cycled over this morning to add the Osprey to my green list.
The bird flew in from the north at 10:42, flew around over the lake for about 15 minutes and then flew off high to the northwest. No fishing attempts made.
43.9 mile round trip and amazingly I did not get wet. Literally minutes after getting home the heavens opened with torrential rain and hail.

Two Ospreys were present above the village on Tuesday morning interacting with each other, observed by D & S Brookes.

Nice to see that this Osprey is now a regularas it is always a thrill to see one but I note that no one has actually answered PeteB's question on how you actually find Woodland Waters. Where is it in relationship to the crossroads in Ancaster?

HI Chris,
If you approach Ancaster from the A17 & go through the village, You then turn right at the crossroads, Woodalnd Waters is about 1/2 a mile on the right.
I sent Peteb and email as I included a multimap link, I didn't know whether I could put a link in th forum.
All the Best

The Osprey showed on three occasions from 10.00am-2.00pm today (Saturday),circling high above the lake or flying past to the East. Presumably, the crowded site below (weekend caravans, tents, anglers, etc.) forestalled any fishing attempts by the bird. Perhaps it returned later as, apparently, the bird showed well (fishing) around 8pm on Friday 6th.

Regards,

Freddy
