Interesting question Birddog. Depends if you follow the BOU list or not. Obviously the official Lincs list follows BOU. JRC, the Lincs Listmaster records two figures, BOU and an additional total that includes species not accepted by BOU.

The Somerset and Manton records will have to be accepted by BBRC first and then BOU will take a few years to put it on the British list. Thats when it will officially go on the Lincs list. Not sure what the quickest first to make it on the British list has been though speed has improved in recent years. Usually takes more than 2 weeks though.

If I'd seen it, it would have gone straight on my list! Discovering I'd driven past it on the M180 while it was there was pretty frustrating. I'd be interested in hearing who came closest to it without seeing it. Was it the chap GPC mentioned or are there worse horror stories out there? Perhaps we should start a counselling group?

I can name a photographer who we gave some stick to today, if only he had looked right.
