Whereabouts is this viewpoint? I might ask Dad to take me if it's very off-the-route of public transport.....

One of the quickest routes from Lincolnshire is to take the A1 to the junction with the A614/A57 SE of Worksop. Then go straight through Clumber Park (nearby on the A614) on the minor road towards Norton. The viewpoint is then on the right as, having crossed the B6034 after Carburton, you come to a lakeside pull-in with parking for some 6-8 cars.
Good luck!

Freddy

More precisely Katherine, if you take the first exit left (sign posted Nottingham) at the Worksop/A1 roundabout. After a few hundred yards on the right you will see an archway leading into Clumber Park. Follow this road right through the park (a couple of miles) and go straight across the junction at the far end (lakes on the right). The site is on the right a mile or so after the junction.

If you go past the 90 degree left hand bend in this road you have gone 100 yards to far. Combine it with a look for nuthatches and hawfinch behind the church in Clumber Park and if you are fortunate you can say you had a good day

Hope this helps and as Freddy said - good luck
