Tried my luck again this morning but the wind was already too far round to the West - however there were a few birds about and 3 species of Shearwater in Lincs is always noteworthy. Two distant Balearic Shearwaters were undoubtedly the highlight and a new Green tick to boot:

Red T Diver - 11 S with 3 on sea
Gannet - good numbers passing some very close. Mostly Juvs
Manx Shearwater - 1N
Sooty Shearwater - 1N
Balearic Shearwater -2N - these birds were a most welcome birthday present for Collin Jennings as they were a new British tick for him - happy birthday Collin!!
Arctic Skua - 7
Shag - 1
Roseate Tern - 1 Juv
Various other Terns - bad light
Graet C Grebe - 1
Guillemot -1
Pink feet - several hundred
Brent Goose - 9

Redwing - 1
Snow Bunting - 1 - reported to me by 2 forum readers

in company with Collin&Shiela Jennings and Edward Hawk

Thanks for your good wishes Edmund.

I checked my records of Balearic Shearwater after the events of Tuesday and found a 'record' of a distant probable at Gwennap Head, Porthgwarra, Cornwall on 8th September 2003.

This means that I have now definitely added this species to my British and Lincolnshire lists! Don't ask me how many are on those lists because I stopped counting some years ago!

See you at Chapel Point again soon.

Colin and Sheila
