Hi all,

Looking for a place in the north/mid lincs area with a decentish chance of seeing some Hawfinch :) I seem to remember a couple of years ago some being seen around Lincoln somewhere.

Thanks

John

I appreciate it's in Notts but around the church in Clumber Park is a strong possibility.

When I went there last winter with the Chesterfield RSPB group, we were told that they had not been seen at all that year there. I don't know if there were any sightings after we had been but the concensus was that it was much more unlikely to see them there than it used to be. Again in Notts but Rufford park is meant to be more likely now. (There was a thread on it somewhere in the non-Lincs thread on this forum).

I am sure the Haverholme birds were a ' one off ' and there is no regular
site within Lincolnshire to guarantee a siting of Hawfinch.
Unless anyone out there knows differently ?

If I remember rightly Graham Catley posted some hawfinch pics from Humber/N Lincs area last winter. I think it was at a feeding station. Not sure if this was a regular site or one off but he would be worth contacting.
