Nice couple of hours there today, only spoiled by the damn wind!

1 Bittern
6 Curlew over
1 Willow Tit
Lots Teal, Mallard, Coot
4 Tufted Duck
2 GC Grebe
c12 Bullfinch



and one very inquisitive Stoat :D (pic in album)
and lots of Grey Squirrel

Main Ness Hide:
Bittern - flew across the N side of Ness Lake
plus incl. :
Gadwall
Teal
Shoveler
Tufted Duck
Pochard
Great-crested Grebe
Little Grebe
Cormorant
Grey Heron
Bird table incl.:
Tree Sparrow
Goldfinch
Greenfinch


NB - No sign of the recently reported drake Smew (incl. Ness Lake,
Visitor Centre Lake and Hotel Lake).

..........and to think I was talking to the Far Ings Visitor Centre staff at 1.00pm today and they "had not seen the drake Smew for a day or two".
I must have been watching the Bittern from Ness Hide when the drake Smew was seen on Hotel Lake.
