I got sodding wet and dreary! walked around in murk and rain all day and managed to see 78 species on my local patch at Barton including the Long-tailed Duck and Smew but failed to get a peep out of any of the 3 Cetti's and the tides were wrong (no Turnstone, no Knot no Black-tails) and there was no light and the Little Owl was in its hole, the Kestrel had drowned etc etc-----------
Although I am answering GPC's quote, my reply is aimed at others who are complaining about the weather...
Be thankful you are well enough to go out and enjoy your hobby/profession, there are those who are not [I am not including myself] and would give anything just to get out. For the most, all of you have tens of years of enjoying your hobby but as soon as we get inclement weather you start complaining. In summer when it's hot and sticky I expect some of you will be complaining again.
As Russ said we British are renowned for complaining about the weather, but it still sticks in my craw everytime I read it on here. Especially when I'm not in a good mood.
If the Cetti's had any sense they would have gone south for their Xmas break.
The Little Owl had the best idea.
And as regards the Kestrel, I feel like doing the same after reading GPC's post
If we get the predicted snow, at least it will allow us to have a bit of fun, unless of course we have to drive through it.
Give me something to smile about :!:
