Vale of Belvoir Wind Farm
If planning permission goes ahead for the construction of 10 wind turbines at Thackson's Well Farm in the northern part of the Vale of Belvoir (South Kesteven Lincs) between Normanton airfield, the A1,Allington and the A52 at Bottesford/Sedgebrook; what damage will be done to the wide and varied wildlife habitats? Only harm would be the obvious conclusion.
To begin with during construction land animals and ground nesting birds will be badly affected for many months with habitats permanently damaged.
Then and for generations to come the Bird and Bat life of the area will be in mortal danger from the fast rotating blades that are 90 metres (nearly 300 feet) across!! The actual height of the Turbines is 125metres. To put that into perspective an Electricity Pylon is 49.5 metres!! and the Big Ben clock tower is but 97 metres in height.
These Turbines are HUGE and WILL cause injury to Birds.
So maximum damage and disruption for very minimal addition to the electricity generated for you and me.
We need your help!
If you are in and around the area concerned or know of particular species that are indigenous to the region and will be affected please report sightings to this e-mail address
turbinesinbelvoir@yahoo.com
You can obtain more information about this and yet another planned Wind Turbine site closer to Bottesford and the A52 to Sedgebrook by logging on to
www.blot-online.org
Please help, we need to stop this destruction of wildlife habitat before planning is granted for if it is the Turbines will cause damage long into the future.
Regards
Richard D Hallam
