1 at flew over boultham mere yesterday at approx 14.40 came from over tritton road heading off towards the bypass. thanks to john hayes for pointing it out, i was scanning the reeds for bittern.
the other bit of news is this was my 100th patch tick at the mere.

Good question - to be honest its looking a bit bleak down here at the moment (lots of digging going on etc therefore lots of disturbance). Best bets are the Cross Drain (for egrets, corvids, raptors etc) and the old wader scrape (Smew, other wildfowl). The latter is the large pool in the dip on the the NW side of Park Farm.

Otherwise I wouldn't bother - wait for the spring when water levels drop and the waders get going!

Did you not get much then?
