The Bittern was seen well in flight this morning at 10:33 when it flew from the reeds in the NW corner of the mere to the reeds on the south side of the mere.

Bittern seen in flight this morning, Saturday 2nd, at 10:15 when it again flew from the reeds in the NW corner to the reeds on the S side.
I have now seen 1 or 2 Bitterns on each of my last 4 visits.

2 Bitterns showing really well for approx 1 hour between 2.15 pm and 3.15 pm Monday 18th.
Opposite the hide on the edge of the reeds and occasionally coming out into full view.
Also 2 Water Rails of note.
