A friend e-mailed me about crowds of birders at Legbourne and asked me what was going on. I sent her a link to the album so that she could see the egret. She saw my pics of the R-n P and wrote:
Just looked at the photos. We had a ring necked Parakeet in our aviary until 2 weeks ago, when we took it and its budgie friend to the Parrot sanctuary. They have lots of the Parakeets flying wild outside the aviary and they're probably going to let ours out too. She fell at Rogers feet a couple of years ago when he was working in Kenwood in London. She was injured so he brought her home. Beautiful bird.
The sanctuary is at Friskney - see link below. So there's the source of all the Parakeets in the South of the county unlike the genuine wild bird recently seen in Grimsby!
