WEATHER: Settled, light wind, mild and spring-like.

TIDE: Well out in the Wash.

Firstly, thanks to Simon Rummery of the RSPB who showed me round the Wildlife Explorers place and the feeding station. Thanks also to the two people that let me look through their telescopes. I am probably going to get a Hawke Endurance 23-70x zoom-lensed Spotting Scope. My mind is almost made up on the issue.

No new life ticks, owls or raptors for me today unfortunately.

SPECIES SEEN:

Greylag Goose - 3
Canada Goose - lots
Brent Goose - about 200

Wigeon - 100
Mallard - usual near car park
Goldeneye - 2 M, 3 F
Shelduck - 9 on lagoon, 50 on shoreline
Little Grebe - 7

Herring Gull - 4
Black-headed Gull - about 60

Ringed Plover - 3
Snipe - 1
Knot - small group on lagoon, large flock out to sea
Lapwing - 2 flocks of about 200 in each
Redshank - 35
Curlew - 1 (heard)
Golden Plover - usual large flock on shoreline
Little Egret - 1

Reed Bunting - 7
Pied Wagtail - 2
Robin - 2
Wren - 2
Chaffinch - 1 F
Starling - 30
Blackbird - 10
Tree Sparrow - 4
House Sparrow - 10

Carrion Crow - 40, mostly on the way there
Magpie - 5
Jackdaw - 7

Foolishly forgot to book for the 'Talon Spotting' event at Frampton Marsh which was today :(

Simon tells me that the Frampton Marsh transformation is under way. I am really excited by this (especially the prospect of loos at Frampton) and I may start going to Frampton one week, Freiston the next!
