Greetings
I just returned from independent trip 5 1/2 to Ecuador. Travelling with two US friends again, we met in Quito on Jan 20 before heading up into the high Andes around Papallacta, then down to the Amazon rainforest staying at the fabulous Napo Wildlife Center before heading back up the east slope of the Andes to the Baeza area. Lots of buses and taxis plus camionettas whenever necessary, walking, suffering at high altitude, some ever so slight perspiring in the rainforest, all in all a fabulous "Dead Dog Birding Tour No 3".
A few of several hundred photos are now on my photo site, many more to come over the coming days and weeks. No trip list yet or any idea of how many but some beauties including Andean Condor, Hoatzin, Umbrellabird, a full set of kingfishers, a flock of Cock of the Rock etc etc. Plenty of insect macros and even some bird macros to come!!
