Another trip to the forest again today, resulted in a total of 8 Adder's along there chosen basking site.
Other bit's and bob's for the year,included my first Gorse-shield Bug's of the year,several White-tailed Bumblebee,Frog's and spawn,Smooth Newt's etc,but surprisingly no Butterflies!

Hi Katherine,
Adder's arn't quite as bad as you think, they are superb, docile animals, and are far more scared of human's than we are of them, have spent a good 15 hours or so watching them over the past few week's,very impressive,as iam sure several member's will no doubt tell you.
Unfortunately not as cuddly as Barn Owl's though.

Regards

Steve

Ooh, my feet have 'gone'.....

I've had 4 courses of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, two courses of hypnotherapy and neither approach has worked, such is the extreme severity of my snake phobia.

I even feel physically sick typing the word!

A visit to Laughton again today surprisingly produced 4 male Adder's at there basking site, and watched one in a snow flurry, these must be the hardiest reptiles in the world, being the most northerly breeding snake in the world.

Regards

Steve.
