During my return from London King's X to Grantham on Saturday morning, the Peterborough-Grantham section was especially productive for raptors :

Common Buzzard 6
Red Kite 1
Sparrowhawk 2
Kestrel 4

To complete the wildlife interest, the driver on the Grantham-Boston leg of the journey announced at one point "For those who may be interested, if you care to look out of the left-hand side windows, a herd of deer are grazing in the field next to the track".
Regrettably he was unable to point out any further raptors for the day list...
