Belated report for yesterday,as i couldn't log onto the forum. The 1st summer Night Heron, was again seen by myself and other's,again at Far-Ings,in a similar area to the previous sighting's.This time it was seen at the end of the long causeway which runs north from Ness hide, and i watched it feeding here for about 10 minutes,it then flew back into the area from which it had appeared,to the right of the causeway,in dense willow scrub. It then repeated this again about an hour later.I don't know if there where any further sighting's. It just show's how a bird like a Night Heron can be presumed gone, and after two week's with no sighting's,appear again. Other good birds seen during the day where as follow's: 1 Brent Goose(Dark bellied). 1 male Ring Ouzel(Previously reported by Roy Harvey). 1 Sedge Warbler 1 Reed Warbler 4 Little-ringed Plover 4 Yellow Wagtail 1 Cuckoo 2 Avocet
Regards
Steve.
