My first visit to this location and didn't I enjoy it. Such glorious weather and I only saw one person all morning

8 Wheatears
2 Buzzards - 1 close overhead mewing
Lots of Meadow Pipit but I couldn't make any of them into Tree Pipits
Plenty of Skylark
1 Cuckoo some distance away
1 Song Thrush
2 Kestrel
3 Lapwing
A few Sand Martin and Swallows
Plenty of Yellowhammers and 100s' of Rook
Unfortunately no Shrike or Ouzels

Perhaps not very exciting but so pleasant with warm sunshine on the bones

Didn't see you! But then I walked in from the steelworks about 2 30pm and didn't go near the dogs toilet which

is where most of the wheatears are

I'm almost sure I saw the shrike - but I flushed it climbing over the gate (GR 923129 approx) which means it's just

the wing pattern I'm going on - so I can't tick it off

Saw the same as you plus one more buzzard

Also saw a Fox

What's not to enjoy ?

Wide open skies and skylarks singing their hearts out

A great afternoon

Bob
