Location: over there,and occasionally wolverhampton
after the gloom lifted at boultham mere we had
1 osprey came from the direction of the cathedral
2 hobby showing for at least an hour over the mere catching dragonflys
2 kingfisher
6 jay
1 great spotted woodpecker
no sign of the redstart or any of the spotted flycatcher that have been about.
all the above cheered matt the "new boy" up

Hi,
What is this Boultham mere like-never been even thou i was born in lincoln,left for scunny when 5 yrs old thou,is it bigger/smaller? than messsingham s quarrys /bushes round it......just out of interest..............

You need to be wary if parking on Tritton Road as there are restrictions in place nowadays

This afternoon Sunday -
The osprey dropped in around 15:30 and took a good sized fish. It was flying off just as I arrived - eventually to the north

Also a hobby at the same time
The kingfisher was showing prominately
Plenty of mallard, a few gadwall and one or two shoveler
A jay, mistle thrush and plenty of swallows as I walked through from Hartsholme
Very murky

Popped in for a quick look today at Boultham Mere

1 Green Sandpiper
6+ Jay
1 Grey Heron
30+ Gadwall
1 Tufted Duck(f)
20+ Shoveler
8 Mute Swan(six juvs + two Adult)
30+ Coot
A few Mallards & Moorhens, one with two very young chicks

Also 1 Hobby near Whisby NR today
