All this talk of breeding birds ,now tonight in our local paper is a full page spread with photos of a pair of Cranes with location details,...the lot, giving details of succesful breeding.
the title reads;exciting times as Cranes fly the nest, with comments from a natural england spokesman.
most of us know of the site, but i wont reveal it just in case number one gets on my case or some else does,,in fact im heading for the shelter now folks!!!

We have been aware of these cranes for the last 5 years and have been to see them. I am totally amazed that a full page spread has appeared in the Scunthorpe Telegraph. Somebody from the Lincs Bird Club ought to tell the photographers in Lincolnshire what we can and can't photograph as it seems very obvious Natural England, the RSPB and the Scunthorpe Telegraph can do anything they like. They are probably not members of the Lincolnshire Bird Club.

Common Cranes must be one of Britains rarest breeding birds and this kind of publicity will do them no good at all.

Does this mean that next year the pictures of black necked grebes, avocets, marsh harriers can all be sent to the Telegraph for inclusion on their news pages?

Not someone from the bird club should complain, surely everyone who has read the article shoul e-mail into the Telegraph and complain, and also point out there legal obligations.
