I'd like to come on the guided tour too, but my problems come in the form of transport and accommodation......

When ever you fancy coming Deano, just drop me a line, and you Katherine,i would be willing to show anyone round,it is a cracking place if you like raptors and owls.Shame certain other people in the birding scene in Linc's think i have ruined it by putting my sightings on the forum,oh well you can't please everyone. :D

How could any one say this amazing place has been "ruined" is beyond us. Worlaby and its birds have given lots of people so much pleasure particularly people that have a special place in their hearts and minds(like us :) ) for Owls and Birds of Prey. The birds are happy there and return time after time so the attention and admiration they get is obviously of no detriment to themselves or the habitat. Particularly in winter Worlaby has proved to be a quite a sociable venue, where like minded people get together to enjoy the birding, swap notes and to share a joke or two.
We would advise anyone to join people like Steve on a guided tour as he is approachable, knowledgeable and always willing to help and advise which is what birding and wildlife watching should be like. Its a pity there are not more people like this in the birding world!
We are not experts and dont strive to be, we just go with the flow, so to speak, and enjoy but what we do know we are willing to pass on and share with others.
Keep up the good work Steve! :D

This year is the first I have really got into dragonflies and damselflies and I would like to thank Steve for giving his help and advise and making the learning process that much easier.

Having never visited Worlaby I would be up for a guided tour, keep up the reports Steve, they make great reading.

Thanks
Nick

hi ,
last time i met steve he was in great form, and we had a laugh about a certain site-not worlaby-say no more!!,i deleted a reply earlier considering it to be bragging, but steve wont mind me reminding everyone how good worlaby carrs/or from broughton bridge end can be,as for me and dave johnson, our highlights include:3 ospreys going up the river ancholme with 5 c buzzrads, black kite seen close up,not accepted by bbrc, going along the river,merlins/peregrines,1 goss/marsh/hen harriers/1 rough legged buzzard found by dave, later confirmed by mr catley/a possible prantincole seen by dave,in a car when raining, fairly certain it was,of course loads of buzzards.
steve spends hours there and is the topman to guide anyone.
my predictions for raptors there:red footed falcon, montaques harrier, white tailed sea eagle, black kite again, goshawk again.
Enjoy..its a superb area for birds in general but especially raptors.
Roger Hebb.
