A very dull and wet morning on the patch was fairly quiet:-
Usual ducks at the mere with Gadwall, Teal, Mallard, Shoveler, Pochard and Tufted Duck present. A count of 48 Mallard was good for the mere.
7 Red-legged Partridges on winter wheat field.
c35 Redwings in hawthorn hedges.

As I was walking back across the fields, at 10:55, a flock of 19 adult Whooper Swans flying in V formation passed over, low NW. A patch year tick, taking my total to 118.
