Evening all, made my near-annual late autumn peregrination to the NE Lincs coast today; tried Theddlethorpe first thing, where there was a spectacular thrush fall (gas station attraction?) but nothing better than Hen Harrier and a few Woodcock, Brambling etc., too much cover, too hard....(too lazy?). Headed for Anderby Creek and then walked north to Hutoft before returning and thrashing around the village. Fewer thrushes along the coast there but still about 200 Goldcrest, a Blackcap and 7 Woodcock. 1 Common Redpoll flushed from the seabank at Mogg's Eye and a pair of Stonechat were present in the same area, rechecking the trees around the tennis court in the afternoon many new Goldcrests seemed to have filtered in off the dunes and I felt short-changed to find a Yellow-browed Warbler there (rather than humei). As a last resort I checked the south side of the village - 'the Dell' (beware irate residents) and found a Pallas's Warbler doing feeding circuits centered on the green, last seen at about 3.10 moving onto the caravan site.
cheers
Alex
