Lincolnshire Bird Club

As most members will be aware, at the last Lincolnshire Bird Club AGM, Anne Goodall stood down as Chairperson of the bird club, leaving the position vacant. At last night’s LBC Committee meeting I took over as chairperson.

Obviously it is early days, and there are many aspects of the bird club functionality that need looking at, but I am keen to hear from all LBC members with comments suggestion and offers to get involved! (it may be best to email or PM me direct)

However, I feel that one of the most important roles of the bird club is the production of a Bird Report and I am determined that the club will produce a 2008 report as a matter of priority.

I am aware that a large number of non bird club members read this forum, and I am interested to hear any views and comments of non-members as well – please contact me via – chairman@lincsbirdclub.co.uk

Speak Soon

Andrew

Well done, Andrew, on taking up this important role. I hope all LBC members and county birders give you and your Committee their full co-operation and support.

I would like to second Stuart's comments. I think we can all rest assured that the LBC management and leadership are in good hands and that the Club will continue to prosper.

Regards,

Freddy

Great idea Andrew, this is one thing I have missed since living in Lincolnshire.

I have just received the 2000-2002 Rare and Scarce Bird Report and had a quick look. It is almost a historical document and I think Andrew's aim to priorities a 2008 Report is the best way forward. When time and manpower permits, the 2003-2007 period report(s) can be produced at leisure.

Andrew - well done for taking the reigns and congratulations on the post. Is the county undertaking a county atlas and an annual report would be most welcomed!
Many thanks - the site has been great so far!
