Black Bank Rd;
Osprey present from 7.30 to 8.30 am seen by mal and JH.
I went 15,00 hrs not there.but 1 marsh harrier nearby.not there at 17.40.
Messingham sand quarry.afternoon.;
At least 5 Spotted flycatchers,maybe more on path to Duck hide.
1 greenshank ,
1 green sandpiper,
and a super caterpillar camcorded by mal,which on looking at my available lit and the net appears to be the caterpillar of the PRIVET HAWK MOTH.,but this is down to mal whos gonna review the video later tonight.it is a privet hawk moth-mal confirms.
nice afternoons work,quite chuffed with the flycatchers and the moth caterpillar...

It would have been handy if Mal had text me as I've never seen an Osprey!

In regard to MSQ the four and a bit hours I spent there yesterday I virtually never saw a single woodland bird, it was hard to believe. Well done Rog! Wonder we didn't meet on BB this after... Did you see the smoke coming from B. Hale? Read my report and you will find out what I mean.

go to as per directions,and you should see it,/got your text about the fire-absolute maniacs!!but osprey -not there all the time,uses it as a roosting/feeding post/might take sevaral visits,
