Hi All,

I've been a member for almost a year now and have recently started to get back out to the coast. Living over the border in Leicestershire I spend a good bit of time in autumn vismigging or watching the visible migration of birds. In Leics the best conditions for vismigging are usually the opposite of the weather conditions required for a day rarity hunting.

Surely there can't be too many members who don't already vismig anyway - seawatching is a form. I recently joined Trektellen and have started making my counts actually count. Looking at the map though on the site and one glaring miss is anywhere in Lincolnshire. Vismiggers at Spurn and turning in some brilliant counts so let's get Lincs on the map.

I will be registering Gib Point for my next trip but surely someone vismigs there more regularly than I ever could. You don't even need to be on the coast. Please, please lets get some records from Lincolnshire and see what we can turn up.

Probably the reason that I find so few rarities - I've generally got my work cut out just trying to count sheer numbers here !

Your input would be welcome - the best movements of passerines and hirundines occurr on south-westerlies as you probably know - recent days have been a bit too westerly. The main interest currently is meadow pipits, ( and the first few rock pipits), linnets, tree sparrows, low numbers of alba wagtails, corvids, house sparrows. Predicted northerlies later in the week will probably curtail even these small movements - but seawatching could be good again.

Hi Kev,

I wish I could help out a bit but I live just outside Leicester - sadly! Inputting records to Trektellen once registered is really quick and easy... mind you you'll probably have 10 times the records that I have to put in.

Hopefully things will be good for a spot of rarity hunting this Sunday... got to work Sat in advance of taking next Friday and my trip to Scilly. Anyone else off on the 10th?

Gary at Holme mentioned Trektellin to me a few years ago - I have just looked at it for the first time and seen all his records for Hunstanton - very impressive.

Perhaps I'll backdate the Gib stuff when I retire, then bring our site database up to date, catch up on 12 months of BTO grapevines, input data for 3 Atlas squares and write Gib annual reports for 07, and 08 and then theres the RBBP stuff and the Lincs Endangered sp panel data to bring up to date.
