Hi Andy,i suppose you are aware the Night Heron at Far-Ings was re-found at the same site by myself on the 19.4.08.After the original sighting on the 5.4.08. the bird was thought to have departed and was not observed by anyone to my knowledge between the 2 dates. It just goes to show how birds can go unnoticed, although the heron was roosting and no doubt feeding in a fairly inaccessible area.If you require a description for that date,i will gladly write one.

Regards

Steve.

Hi Steve

Your sighting is in the database and has been put in the report already.

Cheers,

Paul.

Andrew,

Just a quick question - was the Caspian Tern at Kirkby Gravel Pit Reserve in the report? Was it reviewed by LBC?

Only reason I am asking is that this one was reported via BRRC webpage as I was not a member of LBC then and didn't know at the time the LBC committee, although did mention it a day later:
http://www.lincsbirdclub.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=8218&p=18969&hilit=caspian#p18969

I also don't know the process by the BRRC, is the record diseminated down to LBC?

Cheers

Caspian Tern is a BBRC bird, so would not be considered by LBC - for a full list see - http://www.lincsbirdclub.co.uk/lbc_recordsrequired.htm or

Download the spreadsheet here - http://www.lincsbirdclub.co.uk/Articles ... t%2009.xls

also worth looking at http://www.bbrc.org.uk/ this includes a list of species still considered by BBRC and recent stats, works in progress and for those who do not subscribe to British Birds and you all should there are PDF's of all recent BBRC reports from 1977 up to and including that for 2005
