I received this Email from Phillip Gill (Chairman of the Covenham Water Sports Association) and thought it may be of interest.

Hello Nick and all to all your fellow birdwatchers.I have traced your e-mail from the beautiful gallery of Covenham birds. We are not sure if it is you directly that has access to the reservoir, but we need to tell you all that the locking system for the bottom gate is to be changed as from today. Keys will only be supplied to members of the Association and if you require a key then you need to apply to the Chairman and pay for a Social membership for the year, currently £10.00. By doing this you would have access to the building for the comfort breaks, coffee and snack machines, and will have access to the bar when it is open. Please pass this message on to those who use the site at the moment.
We are also interested in setting up a notice board of the species of birds, flora and fauna too if you would be interested in helping? similar to the one at Gibraltar point.

I think this is a very good offer, is ther any contact number or address ? Although it maybe on the board at the club house.
Wonder also if it may have come about from the meeting we had through Terry Whalin and the water board about future co-operation.

Regards Mike Surr

I have sent Phillip an Email asking whether he should be contacted for membership and if so whether it's OK to post his Email address on the forum. Although I have found the website for the Covenham Water Sports Association with contact details.

Thanks
Nick

if this is the same person that i think, i saw him last july and ask him to move the tyres from where they were stacked because of the bee orchids (only 4 this year in that area ) but he was only to pleased , very helpful. i shown him the orchids and he ask if his wife could take photos, all this seems to a very welcome to improving relations etc although i sent mike drew 2 e mails saying how much the habitat had improved for butterflies but i have had no reply as yet. it was just a heads up type thing to say we are still in being if you see what i mean. :D :D
terry whalin :D
