Still hard to find them but had a Comma and a blue, no idea which it was passing through while I was hanging the washing out and saw it out of my eye corner.

July 11th:

Things are picking up just with a single Small Tortoiseshell, Green-vein White and a Holly Blue.

The original Buddleah in front garden is now in flower but not seen anything on it as yet, maybe once the rain has passed it will be covered in our colorful friends.

My back is no better so that's seven weeks of hell, how many more before I'm up and running, anyones guess

Kind regards

Max

As Freddy and Colin says things are picking up.

Sat in garden yesterday and spotted a Ringlet on the grass, then a Green-vein White passed through, three Large White [are they related to three Blind Mice  ] also, single Peacock on Buddleah, single Comma passing through and Sunday an Holly Blue again.

Max

PS: spotted a toad sheltering from the Sun yesterday PM. Just taken snap of a moth in room.

July 31st:

Had single Common Blue and two Holly Blue plus a couple of GV White and one Large White. Seen the blues nearly every day of late. Oddly enough seen next to nowt on the front garden Buddleah, this was pruned this year, whereas I normally do it autumn, next year I'll revert to doing it in Spring as usual. One of the back garden buddleah is in flower with only the White's seen on it. Next doors Privet has been in flower this year for a change and has been full of insects only problem is the hedge is twelve feet high and not easy to spot owt on it.

Hoping for the elusive Gatekeeper to put in an appearance

Regards

Max

Sept 22nd:

Red Admiral - 3
Painted Lady - 2 [ my first this year ]
Both on same buddleah. I'm glad the winds blew the original branches off or otherwise it wouldn't be flowering as late as it is.

Regards

John :D
