Decided to drive over this afternoon to Rutland Water for the reported Terns.
Arriving at Lapwing Hide at 4.30pm, I had immediate views of :

White-winged Black Tern x 2
Black Tern x 4.

For the next hour the 6 Terns flew up and down over the northern part of South Arm III, often keeping together and separate from the Common Terns flying around. The WWB Terns were very conspicuous as the afternoon sun caught their plumage.
The 6 Terns were still performing well when I left the Hide at 5.30. ( Maximum number of birders in the(large) Hide from 4.30 -5.30pm was 6).
Also Hobby slowly circling over Crake Hide.

Regards,

Freddy

I was at Bainton Gravel Pits (Cambs) from dawn to 1100 yesterday. 4 Black Terns were feeding over one of the larger lakes until 1000 when they moved on. I wonder if they were the same ones?

They could be the same birds, Stuart.
10 Black Terns arrived at Rutland Water on Sun 23 May ( as did the 2 WWB Terns ) but moved on and were not reported at all on Mon 24 May. Although the 2WWB Terns were reported (seen)on "Birdguides" on Mon 24 May at 07.00 and 11.00, the 4 Black Terns were not reported (seen)until 12.42. ( Your 4 at Bainton Gravel Pits (Cambs) having moved on from there at 10.00 on Mon 24 May).
It looks as if the Rutland Water 4 Black Terns moved on again ,as they haven't been reported today (Tue), although the 2 WWB Terns were still around at 15.06.

Regards,

Freddy
