We were ringing last evening and this morning at a private inland site near Belmont mast. We caught a total of 91 birds which included a staggering 42 Blackcaps, 12 Reed Warblers, 8 Garden Warblers, 2 Chiffchaffs and single Lesser Whitethroat and Whitethroat. Most of them were first years that had either not started or in early stages of post juvenile moult. Further evidence of a very good breeding season.
