A late morning drive to Spalding and back produced a Whinchat flying accross the road at Dowsby Fen. A few Swallows still about as well as Sparrowhawk at Twenty and Buzzard, Gosberton Low Fen.

Earlier this morning I inadvertantly disturbed a Common BUzzard in the garden about to swoop on the bird table for the remains of last nights spag bog. A Green Woodpecker which I had not spotted either, scolded the Buzzard from the ground. The Buzzard, presumably the same individual took beef from the same table last year.

A chiffchaff was flycatching in the shrubbery and even sang for a few seconds despite the lack of sunshine.
