I am sure that lots of good birds were seen at Donna Nook today with the best of the bunch being the very obliging Red-breasted Flycatcher that was found by Geoff Williams yesterday. The bird had settled down in an area just to the north of the Stonebridge car park
and showed very well at times.
After a while Linda and I searched the bushes to the south of the car park and I flushed a Great Grey Shrike that flew about a hundred yards to the top of the dunes where it perched for about 10 seconds before flying and disappearing behind the bank. About 20 minutes later John Walton's wife saw it at Pyes Hall. A visiting birder from Worcestershire had a Common Rosefinch close to The Stonebridge car park. He heard it call and saw it well enough too sketch it. A shame that he did not quickly alert other birders who were close by so nobody else got to see it.
Late in the day Neil Drinkall saw a Richards Pipit about 400 yards south of Pyes Hall.
Lots of the more common migrants still around including Robins, Redstarts, Song Thrushes, Redwings, Bramblings, Wheatears, Spotted Flycatchers, Pied Flycatchers, Ring Ouzel, Garden Warbler, Willow Warbler, Chiffchaff, Whitethroat and Siskins - one of which looked absolutely shattered. It was feeding in the dunes at the Pyes Hall end, managing to find a few dandelion seeds and was not at all concerned about us and showing to a few feet.

P.S. Forgot about 2 Snow Buntings near the first RAF tower.
