Not much fishing for late (?) ospreys at Whisby today. Despite the thaw there is still plenty of deep snow and most of the lakes are frozen
Highlights

green sandpiper
redshank
siskin c 30
lots of gulls but nothing out of the ordinary that I could see
goldcrest 6
bullfinch 6

part of the time with Dean Nicholson

What was possibly the same Firecrest seen at Whisby NP on Oct 29th, was seen again last Mon Dec 6th, now wintering, just south of the railway crossing. Today, Friday, the Firecrest was showing all afternoon in the Oaks on the eastern side of the Oakwood just before the level crossing. Showed very well with patience although was never low down and preferred the canopy. Made my afternoon to be honest!

Also f Brambling at the bird feeders.

Regards

Grahame
