A nice pleasant day with plenty of sunshine and temperature in double figures couldn't be better.

Highlights:

Oystercatcher x1
Nuthatch x10
Mandarin Duck x10 (7 Drakes, 3 Females)
Treecreeper x3
Coal Tit x6
Jay x7
Shelduck x4
Lapwing x64
Common Buzzard x9
Kingfisher x1 (Near Bridge, 16:30)
Sparrowhawk x1
Kestrel x4
Marsh Tit x4
Willow Tit x1
Goldeneye x1
Fieldfare x18

No sign of any Hawfinch today by other birders and myself.

A very brief view of a Buzzard near the ford flying into adjacant woodland, showing a distinctive white tail with a single dark band. Possible Rough-legged Buzzard or a pale morph Common Buzzard.

Cheers,

Richard
