I've been in touch with the Lincoln RSPB Group leader and he informs me that this year the RSPB will be mounting their manned Marquee/Peregrine Watchpoint (plus telescopes, etc) at Lincoln Cathedral from Fri 22nd April (Good Friday).

They will be there every Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday, and also the first 7 Fridays of the event, until the end of July. The nest site has been located and the RSPB is hoping to get a camera on site so that images can be shown in the Marquee.

Lincoln Peregrine Update : 21 April

The Group Leader of the Lincoln RSPB Local Group ( Peter Skelson ) has informed me that an RSPB nest-cam has been successfully installed at Lincoln Cathedral : it was discovered that the Peregrines are now incubating four eggs. There will be live views from the nest to the RSPB Marquee and eventually on the Radio Lincolnshire website.

For up to date details of dates and times see http://www.lincolnrspb.org.uk/events.htm for April, May, etc as appropriate.

I visited the Lincoln Peregrine site for an hour or so this morning ( Fri 29 April ). The latest news is that one chick has now hatched and the Marquee webcam showed the female feeding it prey morsels. Although the nest site is in the S part of the E Tower, the Marquee for certain practical reasons is erected on the lawn on the N side by the Tennyson statue. The male Peregrine often perches on that N side, so good views should be obtained.
