Hi Colin,

They seem early. How much earlier than usual are they? Haven't been to Cowle Moor yet - would you mind posting or pm directions and the best area to see them?

Many thanks,

Hugh

Hi Hugh.
Everything seems to be early this year, i was taking photos of them last year in the first week of July. Crowle moor is a difficult place to find if you have not been there before but they have put up signs now to help visitors. When you enter Crowle turn left at the mini roundabout into Godnow rd, then second right along Windsor rd, follow this to the bottom where it bends right and turn left into Commonside, follow Commonside to the bottom where this also bends right and take the turning on the left called Newbigg, follow this right to the end, through the fields and you comt to a t junction, turn right and follow to the end where the road stops and a rough track appears, go along the rough track slowly and you will find a small parking area on the left side. Large heaths can be seen anywhere along the footpath, try and visit on a warm, windless day.

Good luck.
Colin
