After hearing that Andy Sims had recently had an Old Lady moth in his actinic trap I decided to try lure one into my garden last night with my actinic trap plus several strategically placed 'sugar' solution drops nearby. It worked, with one coming in at about 10pm but unfortunately it briefly went into the trap and came straight back out again! I've had this species a couple of times before in my garden. A very smart looking and big moth.
